ALMIRA, born 30th of May 1989, is a singer-songwriter based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She started her music journey in her teens where she was living in Los Angeles, California. Starting to make songs of her own and singing in her bedroom. Knowing that she wanted music to be part of her career, not just as a hobby, she decided to go back to Jakarta and study music at Universitas Pelita Harapan. She majored in Performing Arts Production and Management, and took the piano as her main instruments.
She graduated later in 2014 and started her singing career more seriously. Playing in small pubs and jazz clubs around Jakarta. Then in the late 2016 she decided to joining the prestigious MLDare2Perform competition where she won as the best vocalist. She later toured Indonesia with her band The Good People (preciously known as MLD Jazz Project Season 2). Playing in festivals such as Java Jazz, Prambanan Jazz, Malang Jazz, and many more.
Now she is starting her own solo project taking only the name ALMIRA as her stage name. Releasing her own singles like “Kings of Queens” and a jazz piece called “Littlefoot”. She is also a dedicated mother to her daughter Imogen, that is why she took on the hashtag #SingingMom. This is a passion of her, where she believed that being an artist and providing for her family can be done. She believes in empowering women through their career and motherhood.
Now she is focusing on finished her next single and maybe an upcoming album.
